REVIEW: Wicked Garden by Lorelei James
Sandy M's review of Wicked Garden by Lorelei James
Contemporary Erotic Romance eBook Novella released by Samhain 9 Sep 08
Lorelei James is turning out to be one of my favorite authors for erotic romance. This is her first book I've read that isn't a western, part of her McKay family series, and I enjoyed it almost as much as I do her sexy cowboys. Besides the hot and sizzling sex you get in a James book, there's just something about her characters that always draws me in. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and you feel every nuance of their emotions, good or bad, leaving you wanting to know what happens to them and if they'll be okay in the end. Read the story »

It's fall, and during fall I love football. College football mostly (and surprisingly my team is doing surprisingly well this year, so I'll put in a shameless plug for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Wreck 'em TECH!), but pro is good as well, since it's football. When I got this book, it was a good thing, as it's romance and football. Win-win situation for me all around, though it isn't the type of book that I normally read. Read the story »

Historical romance released 01 Nov 08 by Forever
I've been feeling a bit guilty lately. I have a ton of historicals on my TBR, none of which I've read although they all look so good. But when Elizabeth Hoyt's second book in the Legend of the Four Soldiers series came out, I knew I had to drop what I was doing and pick it up. This despite my reservations. I mean, come on. How many times do we have to read the fake rake meets bluestocking romance? Thankfully, what I got was so much more than that. Read the story »

I finally got my first look at the Twilight Saga sensation that (almost) everyone's gone crazy over. With the movie only days away from release, I had to get this at least this first book read before checking out the film. I always like a book better than the movie, too much is left out for the screen version, and that would definitely be so in this case. So much happens in this book they'd have to leave a lot of it out, so I want my own interpretation before seeing the spin put on it by the producers and director. Read the story »

Science fiction released by Del Rey May 88, re-release by Ace 30 Dec 08
Every once in a while, I like to revisit my teenaged reading self. This is probably the only part of my teenaged self that doesn't perpetually irritate me, but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, in my teens, I read lots of science fiction and fantasy of the pretty girl has unusual powers, grows up, saves the world, rides a dragon and finds romance with a sensitive man that doesn't exist in real life type. Reading Conflict of Honors, I was brought back to those stories, although Conflict of Honors has a surprisingly adult feel to it, all things considered. Note from Sybil: When BelleBooks contacted me about their new young adult line, I was pretty sure they would be right up my lil' sis's alley. I was right. Read on for her 14 year old opinion ;). Yes I need to make her write longer reviews, feel free to ask questions and I will get you answers.

So it's been a bit quiet about the pond here. I'm sure those of you on twitter have noticed Syb being quiet as well. Unfortunately our dear duckie has had an incident and has been away from her computer.
